The Sub-Saharan Education Project, Inc. (SSEP) is a United States-based 501(c)3 non-profit organization working to improve the quality of life in sub-Saharan Africa through education. SSEP is built upon the belief that education is the long-term solution to poverty and is a core component in the success of individuals and the communities in which they reside.. We address the complexity of the challenges facing impoverished communities through the use of community engagement and mobilization.
Research shows that education dramatically reduces poverty and significantly impacts quality of life and it is hugely important for youth everywhere to have access to education. Ghanaian children should be no exception. Unfortunately, despite the country being a shining example of political stability and deepening democracy in the West African region, Ghana’s educational system continues to be inadequate in its ability to provide basic educational services to its citizens.
